Grzegorz Szymański as the new CEO of PVRLA
The Polish Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (PVRLA), the only Polish industry organization of long-term car rental companies and Rent-a-Car companies, has chosen a new Board. From now, PVRLA will be led by Grzegorz Szymański, who is also the President of Arval Polska, one of the largest and most dynamically developing long-term car rental companies in the country. The new CEO of the organization has been a member of the Association’s governing bodies since May 2015, until now being the Member of the PVRLA Board.
PVRLA Board for the next two-year term were elected during the General Meeting of the organization. The five-member Management Board, alongside incoming President Grzegorz Szymański, includes also Sławomir Wontrucki, President of LeasePlan Polska, who served as the head of the Association for the last two years, and will be a Member of the Board in the upcoming term of office . Also Leszek Pomorski, President of Alphabet Polska, Daniel Trzaskowski, Managing Director of Volkswagen Leasing and Paweł Piórkowski, President of Hertz (Motorent), will continue their work in the organization’s governing bodies, holding the positions of the Management Board Members.
Grzegorz Szymański, new CEO of PVRLA, graduated from the Finance and Banking Department at the Warsaw School of Economics. He also holds an Executive MBA acquired at the University of Warsaw and the University of Illinois. He began his career in financial departments, including at FM Logistic (logistics industry). Grzegorz Szymański has extensive experience in the CFM industry in Poland. Since mid-December 2014, he has been the President of the Management Board and Managing Director of Arval Polska, one of the largest and longest operating long-term car rental companies in Poland. While being President of the company, the Arval fleet has grown by around 7,000 cars by the end of 2017, which means that Arval is currently the fastest growing CFM company in Poland. Szymański has been associated with Arval for 12 years. Until 2011, he held the position of Financial Director and Member of the Management Board, then in the years 2011 - 2014 he was the Finance Director (CFO) for Central Europe and Mediterranean countries.
Currently, PVRLA is not only one of the most important organizations in the fleet industry in Poland, but also the entire automotive market in the country – says Grzegorz Szymański, CEO of PVRLA, President of Arval Polska. – In 2017, PVRLA members generated a total of more than 1/3 of sales of new passenger cars to companies, i.e. over 114,000. cars. At the same time, the organization is dynamically developing, expanding the spectrum of its activities with other areas important for the future of the fleet industry in Poland, related to, for example, broadly understood education or social responsibility. The organization currently gathers the largest and most important companies in the country, operating on the long-term car rental market, Rent-a-Car market, as well as car leasing market. I consider taking on the role of the CEO of the PVRLA Management Board as not only an interesting and ambitious challenge in my professional career, but also an honor.
In addition to the Board, PVRLA members also elected the Association’s Audit Committee, which will operate in the new term of office. It is formed again by Hubert Laszczyk, President of Express, Dariusz Tucharz, Director of CFM Department at mLeasing and Marcin Nivette, President of NFM.

It allowed the companies belonging to PVRLA to generate more than 1/3 of sales of all passenger cars to companies in the country in the past year, thus having a very significant impact on the condition of the entire automotive market in Poland. Currently PVRLA consists of 20 companies. There is a separate organizational structure within PVRLA – Rent-a-Car group of companies, which brings together 7 large networked, both Polish and international, car rental companies.
The organization has a significant and ever-growing influence on the development and also current and future shape of the fleet market in Poland. In October 2017, in cooperation with PVRLA and SKFS (Association of Fleet Managers) at the Faculty of Transport of the Warsaw University of Technology, the first program developed in Poland, postgraduate fleet management "Car fleet management and mobility" was launched. The study program was co-created by the organization, and a significant group of the lecturers are experts from companies belonging to the Union. PVRLA engages in activities that improve safety and promote ecology in Polish fleets, as well as affect the quality of services offered on the fleet market. For 10 years, the Polish Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association has awarded its industry’s prestigious PVRLA Awards. The organization is a member of the Polish Leasing Association and the Partnership for Road Safety.
